Pistons Repeat Champions

The Waikato Pistons have been crowned NZCT National Basketball League champions for the second year in a row after defeating the ecogise Nelson Giants 94-84 in game two of the final series in Te Awamutu tonight, wrapping the finals up in two games.

Rampton, Homik Cleared

Following an appeal by the ecogise Nelson Giants against the automatic suspension imposed on Tony Rampton due to being evicted from the game on Tuesday night, a decision has been reached by the NBL Judicial Commissioner to clear both Tony Rampton and Mike Homik to play in game two of the final series tonight in Te Awamutu.

First Blood Pistons

The Waikato Pistons have drawn first blood in the best of three NZCT National Basketball League final series beating the ecogise Nelson Giants 81-69 in Nelson tonight. The Giants hopes for for the rest of the final series were dealt a massive blow with big man Tony Rampton now suspended for game two after being ejected late in the fourth quarter.
