WBC

The Women’s Basketball Championship (WBC) replaced the Women’s Basketball League (WBL) in 2009.

The WBC, a joint venture between Basketball New Zealand and teams and associations, will feature nine teams from around the country, with three three-day tournaments played at North Harbour, Dunedin and Wellington.

The inaugural WBC teams include the Hutt Valley Flyers, NZ Force Harbour Breeze, NZ Force Cougars, NZ U16, NZ Women’s Academy, Oceana Goldrush, Palmerston North Storm, Taranaki Trojans, Waikato Wizards, Wellington Women’s Academy

Tournaments will be held in New Plymouth, June 24-26; Waitakere, July 22-24; and Dunedin, August 19-21.
