Born: January 25, 1974 in Christchurch

Height: 1.96m

Jones has been the country’s outstanding guard for nearly a decade, winning his fifth NBL Outstanding Kiwi Guard award in 2008 to go with two championships, three Kiwi MVP titles, two Outstanding Guard awards and selection in five All-Star Fives.

He is also the highest scoring Kiwi in NBL history.

Jones debuted for the Tall Blacks in 1994 and was their top scorer (18.2 points, 41.7% 3pt) at the 2002 world championships. He ranked second among all scorers at the Athens Olympics, averaging 21.0 points and scored 28 points (8/16 3pt) in the Tall Blacks’ biggest ever win over Australia (72-53) in Napier in 2006.

He retired from international play in 2007.

Jones has played professionally in Finland, Greece and Italy. He was one of the NZ Breakers’ very first signings for their debut season and returned there last summer.
