Clare Bodensteiner
Position: Guard
Born: October 31, 1984, at Christchurch
Height: 1.76m
Bodensteiner was born in Christchurch and holds an NZ passport, but grew up in Rupert, Idaho, and attended Stanford University, one of the best women’s college basketball programmes in the United States.
She played in 96 games for the Cardinal from 2002-07, earning Pac-10 All-Academic honours.
After a year teaching at an international school in London, Bodensteiner made late bid for a spot on the Tall Fern roster for the Beijing Olympics and was duly selected after solid performances at the Olympic test event.
