Follow results from Day 1 of the 2009 NBL Blitz being held at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua.
Day 1 of the 2009 NBL Blitz finished with the Century City Saints registering three wins from three games beating the Youthtown Auckland Stars 81-56 on court two. Mike Efevberha hit a game high 31 points to round of a good day for the Saints import who looks to have plenty to offer the 2009 NBL.
On Court 1 the Brisbane Capitals finished the day with a win over 2008 NBL defending champions the Waikato Pistons to register two wins from three games and take equal top spot in Group A with Appliance Shed Harbour Heat. Appliance Shed Harbour Heat went 2 & 0 with imports Mychal Green and Chaz Spicer impressing with consistant numbers.
On the evidence of Day 1 action at Te Rauparaha Arena, tomorrow promises to be an exciting day with semi final spots up for grabs in the morning.
