AA Secondary Schools National Championships

It’s semifinals day at the AA Secondary Schools National Championships - presented by Furnware - in Palmerston North.

Both defending champions - St Patrick’s College boys and Church College girls - remained alive in the quarterfinals on Thursday. St Pat’s defeated Westlake Boys High and meet surprise team Rangitoto College tonight, while unbeaten Waikato squads Hamilton’s Fraser High and Church College meet in the other boys semi.

Church College pulled away from Fraser High in the fourth period of their quarterfinal, setting up a semifinal date with New Plymouth Girls High, while Rangitoto College, who did it tough against Massey High yesterday, play Waimea College in the other girls semi.
