Devon Dynamos Taranaki forward Link Abrams became the fourth player to claim multiple Player of the Week awards in the Dominion Finance NBL this season.

Abrams had 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a 98-84 win over the Marley Canterbury Rams on Friday and backed it up with 21 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in a 99-95 overtime win over the League-leading Waikato Pistons on Sunday, earning the round 12 honours.

The 34-year-old American-born Kiwi, the second highest non-restricted player at number six in the latest NBL Player Power Rankings, also won the PoW in round eight and reached 1000 career rebounds in Friday’s win.

Other multiple PoW winners include: Stars forward Casey Frank (rounds two and four), Pistons point guard Jason Crowe (rounds three, five, 10 and 11) and Rams point guard Jeremy Kench (rounds seven and 10).

Abrams beat out Crowe, who had a monster triple-double of 44 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a loss to the Rams and another near triple-double in the Dynamos loss, Pistons shooting guard Brian Wethers and Jets point guard Kantrail Horton, who missed a triple-double by one rebound on Sunday.
