Kiwi Zane Meehl compiled his second consecutive ìtriple doubleî to fuel Maroochydore Clippersí 147-107 win over Toowoomba Mountaineers in the Queensland Australia Basketball League.
Meehl scored 40 points (12/27 FG, 7/10 3pt, 9/10 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals as the Clippers, coached by Tall Black legend Warwick Meehl, improved to 4-4 for the season. The former NZ Junior Tall Black now leads the league in assists (7.8), and ranks second in scoring (32.5 points) and steals (4.5).
Former Junior Tall Fern Shannon Proffit provided some glue for the Maroochydore women as they beat Toowoomba 57-46.
Proffit had four points (2/4 FG), nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in 34 minutes as a starter as the Clips improved to 6-2.
Meanwhile, former NBL guard Lance Baker had 14 points (3/13 FG, 2/10 3pt, 6/6 FT), three steals and a rebound in Gold Coast Goannasí 118-104 win over Logan Thunder.
In the South East Australia Basketball League, Kiwi guard Lisa Pardon led Launceston Tornadoes with 17 points, but couldnít prevent them falling 63-75 to North West Tasmania Thunder in a local derby.
Pardon shot 8/20 FG, 1/8 3pt, adding two rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes as the Tornadoes fell to 8-11 for the season.
