The opportunity now exists for a contract to supply all team uniforms and off-court apparel for Basketball New Zealand from 2008-2010.

Basketball New Zealand is an organisation with an established history of competing at the highest level of the sport with the Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns being well respected globally. The National Basketball League receives excellent television and media coverage.

In 2008, the Tall Ferns path to the Olympic Games is cemented. The Tall Blacks still have a chance to qualify for Beijing through a pre-Olympic tournament in July.

It is the national federation’s responsibility to supply the teams’ playing uniforms for the Olympic Games. An extensive calendar of events both abroad and at home is planned as the build up to Beijing.

The Dominion Finance NBL is a long-running men’s national basketball league with 10 teams spread geographically around New Zealand from the North Shore to Dunedin. This is a well supported home-and-away competition that has received extensive television coverage for many years.

The league is a key pathway for the Tall Blacks and is a keenly contested competition, with 98 games scheduled for the 2008 season. Twenty of these will be televised LIVE on SKY Sport 1.

Basketball New Zealand has an extensive development programme and outfits the following teams

• Junior Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns
• Emerging Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns
• Under 19 Boys and Girls National Teams
• Under 17 Boys and Girls national Teams
• Koru development programme (120 players and coaching staff tour to Australia)

The tournaments programme has some 7000 participants. BBNZ holds the merchandising agreement, tournament prizes include a T-shirt and souvenir T Shirts are sold.

About 1500 players and coaches participate in the development programme, with uniforms & camp T-shirts part of the package offered.

A supplier is sought who can outfit elite sportsmen and sportswomen in appropriate apparel.

Expressions of interest are sought by December 12, 2007, via email or mail to The CEO, BBNZ, P.O.Box 6052, Marion Square, Wellington.
