The New Zealand men’s team dropped to 0-2 on day two of the Australian Under-18 National Championships in Ballarat, Victoria, on Sunday.
The Kiwis were over-matched 95-46 by the competition favourites Victoria Metro in their second game in pool A, getting 13 points from Tom Rowe and 10 from James Holland.
New Zealand got their only first quarter points from the free-throw line, being outscored 28-5 by the defending champs, but did fightback to win the fourth quarter 20-19.
The NZ men (0-2) face Queensland South (1-0) on day three, while the Kiwi women (0-1) double-up with games against New South Wales Metro (2-0) and Victoria Country (1-1) on Monday.
