Round 11 Player of the Week goes Bartercard Christchurch Cougars import Tim Behrendorff leading his side to a 83-74 win over the 0800 Easy LPG Bay Hawks.
Behrendorff scored 27 points (11-18 FG), also grabbing 8 rebounds and 3 steals in the road win which currently give the Cougars a 9 win 4 loss record. This season Behrendorff has played 13 games averaging 18.5 points, 8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks per game. Behrendorff is also third in the league in field goal percentage at 64.3%.
This will be the third season in a row that Behrendorff will at least make a playoff appearance, making the playoffs in 2007 and 2008 with the Appliance Shed Harbour Heat.
Leading scorer of the League Corey Webster was unlucky not to win POW honors scoring 25 points and grabbing four steals in the 88-71 win over the Youthtown Auckland Stars.
Stars Dillon Boucher had 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals in that same game. Boucher leads the league in steals at 3.3 per game and is second in rebounding at 10.3 per game.
McDonalds Manawatu Jets import Marcel Jones is the new overall leader in the Player Power Rankings closely followed by former leader Mike Efevberha.
