NZ Tall Fern Micaela Cocks made her first appearance of the season for Auckland, helping them to a pair of wins in the Womenís Basketball League.
Cocks, who has returned from her freshman season with the University of Oregon, led her team in a 91-50 victory over Massey Fever, contributing 18 points (7/14 FG, 2/5 3pt, 2/3 FT), four rebounds, four steals and three assists off the bench.
Forward Erica Hopkinson registered a ìdouble doubleî for Auckland with 12 points/12 rebounds, while Emma Gillespie was best for Massey with 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
The reigning Womenís Conference Basketball League champions improved their record to 4-2 with a 76-48 result over Church College.
Tall Ferns Lisa Wallbutton (21 points/15 rebounds) and Jess McCormack (11 points/12 rebounds) recorded ìdouble doubleî and Cocks adding 15 points. Mieke Elkington led Church with 12 points.
Northern conference leaders Harbour Breeze (7-0) also beat Church 81-60 with Noni Wharemate and Karlene Kingi scoring 22 points each. Kingi added 12 rebounds for her ìdouble doubleî, while Tall Fern Jody Tini matched it with 16 points/14 rebounds.
Elkington (11 points/11 rebounds) was again her teamís best, while Latava Whippy had 16 points.
