Counties Manukau Basketball will host upcoming entry-level coaching and referee courses in South Auckland.
The free “Getting Started Coaching Course” will be held from 9-11am on Saturday, February 21, at the Allan Brewster Recreation Centre in Papatoetoe.
The course will cover: the role of a coach, coaching philosophy, planning, communication, coaching and develop skills, fundamental skills and drills, team offensive and defensive philosophies and evaluating coaching.
Two four-week BBNZ orientation referee courses will be held in Pakuranga (starting Tuesday, February 17, 6-8pm at Pakuranga College) and Manurewa (starting Saturday, February 21, 9-11am at Manurewa Rec Centre).
The courses will cover introduction and philosophy (week one), basic mechanics (week two), basic contact (week three) and basic violations and review (week four).
