Deja Vu
Church College and Rotorua Lakes girls continued on course for a title-deciding showdown on the final day of the Furnware NZ “A” Secondary Schools Championships at North Harbour.
Last year’s finalists both scored wins over Wairoa College on Day Three of the tournament and will face each other in the event’s final game to decide the finishing order. If anything, 2008 runners-up Rotorua Lakes have been slightly more impressive in their results, accounting for Wairoa 54-19 yesterday.
Church’s scoreline against the same opponents was 86-62.
Meanwhile, Nga Taiatea Wharekura gained inside running in the three-way battle for boys’ honours, beating Rotorua Lakes 76-70. They can secure the championship with a win over Dunstan HS this morning.
