Tall Ferns coach Shawn Dennis and assistant Aik Ho put the second Women’s Academy camp of 2010 through its paces at YMCA North Shore last weekend, April 9-11.
Twenty-one female athletes attended, along with several local coaches that included former Tall Fern Jodi Tini.
Dennis was able to give players and coaches first-hand knowledge on the requirements of playing at international level, with the main focus of the sessions being off-ball defence and positioning and spacing on offense.
The academy, supported by YMCA and NZ Defence Force, will assemble again May 21-23 to build on the fundamentals set down at the weekend.
