Harbour Heat guard Hayden Allen bounced back from a stint in hospital to lead the Singapore Slingers to a 93-72 win over RP Harbour Centre National Team at the Brunei Cup in the Philippines.
Allen is on trial with the Australian NBL franchise after sharing Outstanding Kiwi Guard honours in the local 2007 Dominion Finance NBL, where he averaged 16.6 points (47.1% FG, 79% FT). But soon after arriving in Singapore, he was admitted to hospital suffering from dehydration and a viral infection.
Returning to the court, Allen led his team with 19 points (6/11 FG) as the Slingers improved to 3-1 at the tournament. They play Korean club LG Sakers in their final pool game on Saturday.
