Tanaka Gapare has wowed them in Las Vegas.
The Newlands College year-11 pupil was a standout performer in a New Zealand Basketball Academy side that finished second of eight teams in the girls’ under-15 division at the Las Vegas Live tournament.
Gapare, 15, played a dominant role at centre and is now on the radar of several high school and college scouts in the United States.
