The NZ Tall Blacks have come down to earth just a day after beating Russia, defeated by Jordan 65-62 in their final game of preparations for the FIBA World Championship for Men at the World Cup tournament in Zadar, Croatia.
New Zealand had possession in the last minute of the game, but couldn’t gain the lead after being down 62-64 before the Jordanians gained one more point to seal the victory.
For Jordan, naturalised American Sam Dahlas scored 17 points, while Kirk Penney finished with 17 for New Zealand.
The Tall Blacks now return to Turkey for the world Championship, where they face Lithuania in their first game on August 28 in Izmir.
