NZ Tall Fern Kate McMeeken-Ruscoe helped Frankston Lady Blues to an upset 76-55 win over Nunawading Spectres in the South East Australia Basketball League.
McMeeken-Ruscoe had 19 points (8/12 FG, 1/6 3pt, 2/2 FT), five assists and two rebounds, while former international Julie Ofsoski chipped in eight points and three rebounds.
Frankston still trail the league with a 3-9 record.
Tall Fern guard Lisa Pardon scored 18 points (7/16 FG, 4/9 3pt) to lead Launceston Tornadoes in a 57-72 defeat by Knox Raiders.
Pardon added four rebounds and three assists as Launceston fell to 4-8 for the season.
In the New South Wales Waratah Basketball League, Kiwi Charmian Purcell fouled out in the third quarter to leave her Parramatta Wildcats team short-handed in their unlikely 60-54 win over Sutherland Sharks.
Only five players fronted for the Cats and that became four when Purcell picked up her fifth personal. Before leaving, she contributed five points (2/14 FG, 1/2 FT), 11 rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Meanwhile, Kiwi Va Aokuso was Logan ThunderÃs best, but not good enough to prevent her team falling 41-64 to the Mackay Meteorettes in the Queensland Australia Basketball League.
Aokuso was LoganÃs only double-figure scorer with 13 points (5/15 FG, 3/4 FT), adding 16 rebounds, two steals and a block.
She also had seven points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in a 48-75 loss to Rockhampton Cyclones, a team featuring Opals centre Jenny Whittle.
