Former Junior Tall Fern guard Kezia Kelly (Sylvia Wilkins)

Harbour point guard Kezia Kelly helped Washington State University to their second conference win of the US college season, defeating University of Arizona 67-54 on the road.

Kelly, who has started most of her freshman season with the Cougars, logged a team-high 38 minutes for 12 points (3/9 FG, 2/4 3pt, 4/4 FT), four assists and two rebounds as WSU improved to 5-22 for the season and 2-14 in the PAC 10.

Key to their success was 13/29 (44.8%) shooting from the arc, while their opponents hit just once from long distance.

The victory was Washington State’s first in Tuscon since 1998 and their first conference road win in more than a year.

Kiwi guard Amanda Harris compiled a double double of 10 points (3/11 FG, 2/7 3pt, 2/2 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds and two steals as College of the Siskiyous defeated Lassen College 86-79.

Siskiyous have now won eight in a row on the way to a 23-5 record, with Harris averaging 8.1 points (55.2% FG, 40.6% 3pt, 68.1% FT), 6.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals.

Former Junior Tall Black Corey Webster had 15 points as Lambuth University avenged an earlier loss to Mid-Continent University with a 107-75 win.

Webster, who has been on a scoring tear over the second half of the Eagles’ regular season schedule, shot 5/8 FG, 2/4 3pt, 3/3 FT, adding an assist, a steal and a rebound as Lambuth extended their winning streak to 10 games.

Ranked fifth in the NAIA, They are 24-3 for the season and 16-2 in leading the TranSouth Conference.

Kiwi centre Jeremiah Trueman provided a spark off the bench for University of Alaska Anchorage as they overcame Seattle University 73-60 to solidify their standing as top-ranked team in the Great Northwestern Athletic Conference west region.

Trueman, who is unavailable for the Tall Blacks this year, had 12 points (4/6 FG, 4/5 FT) and six rebounds in 16 minutes, scoring all his field goals off offensive rebounds.

In Romania, former Tall Black coach Tab Baldwin guided U-Mobilteco Cluj Napoca to a 78-76 victory over Gaz Metan Medias that boosted them to 11-7 for the season and into the FRB top four.

In Turkey, Tall Black point guard Mark Dickel had 12 points to help Selcuk Univ beat Banvitspor 89-86.

Dickel shot 5/7 FG, 1/2 3pt, 1/1 FT, adding five assists and four rebounds, as his team improved to 7-14 for the season.

In Iceland, Emerging Tall Blacks captain Everard Bartlett paced the Jeff Green-coached Hottur with 32 points (10/17 FG, 6/10 3pt, 6/7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, but couldn’t prevent his team falling 82-107 in the national second division.

Waikato forward Ben Hill had 24 points (9/18 FG, 6/7 FG) and three rebounds as Hottur fell to 4-10 for the season.
