Scenic Circle Canterbury Rams point guard Jeremy Kench will play for the Wollongong Hawks in the 2007/08 Australian NBL.
Kench (22) debuted in the Phillips Champions with the Singapore Slingers last summer after a breakout season in the New Zealand NBL in 2006.
ìI was very impressed with his play during his rookie season,î says Hawks coach Eric Cooks. ìHeís a tough guard and is willing to put his body on the line on the defensive end.
ìKench is definitely a great pick up for us. He is young, talented and will be a great fit for the style of play I want to see the team introduce this season.î
Kench is currently averaging 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals for the 2-7 Rams, and joins a rebuilding Wollongong roster that now includes American Kavossy Franklin, John Philip, Ben Castle and Mat Campbell.
