Tall Fern point guard Angela Marino enjoyed her strongest game of the Australian Defence Force WNBL season to help Adelaide Lightning account for a depleted Perth Lynx 100-66.
Marino, who played for the Lynx last season, had 14 points (3/10 FG, 2/5 3pt, 6/6 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes as Adelaide retained their position atop the league table with an 11-3 record.
In US college play, Canterbury guard Mandy Caldwell had five points (2/5 FG, 1/2 3pt), three rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes to help Florida Southern University defeat Palm Beach Atlantic 93-56 and improved to 5-3 for the season.
Tall Fern Aroha Jennings led University of Memphis with 14 points as they fell 66-78 to Belmont.
Jennings shot 4/6 FG, 7/10 FT, adding six rebounds before fouling out after 27 minutes. The Tigers are now 2-6 for the season.
Tall Fern centre Jess McCormack came off the bench for 10 points in 12 minutes, but could not spark University of Washington to success over nationally ranked Ohio State University, losing 54-71.
McCormack logged 12 minutes, shooting 5/5 FG and adding a block and a steal.
Kiwi point guard Amanda Harris averaged 7.0 points, 4.3 assists, 5.0 steals and 2.0 rebounds to as College of the Siskiyous went on a three-game tear, avenging an earlier loss to Chabot College 59-52 and pulling off an overtime thriller 82-78 over San Francisco City.
The Siksiyous, now 9-2 for the season, wrapped up their week with a 68-62 win over San Jose Community College.
