NZ Tall Fern guard Angela Marino (Photosport)

NZ Tall Fern Angela Marino stepped off the plane from international duty in Japan and compiled a ìdouble doubleî to help Sturt Sabres defeat West Adelaide Bearcats 82-31 in the Central Australia Basketball League.

In the top-of-the-table clash, Marino scored 20 points (5/15 FG, 3/9 3pt, 7/8 FT), adding 10 assists, five rebounds and a steal in 38 minutes as Sturt improved to 9-1 for the season and consolidated their competition lead.

In the South East Australia Basketball League, Kiwi guard Lisa Pardon helped Launceston Tornadoes to a 101-86 win over neighbours North West Tasmania Thunder.

Pardon had 19 points (6/20 FG, 1/4 3pt, 6/7 FT), seven rebounds and five assists as Launceston improved to 7-9 for the season, just 1.5 games out of the top four.

Former Tall Fern Julie Ofsoski showed she still had game when she scored 21 points (6/15 FG, 9/11 FT) in Frankstonís 62-91 loss to Ballarat Lady Miners.

Ofsoski added six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 25 minutes, while current NZ international Kate McMeeken-Ruscoe chipped in 14 points (5/16 FG, 2/7 3pt, 2/2 FT), three rebounds and a block for the bottom-of-the-table Lady Blues.

Meanwhile, in the NSW Waratah Australia Basketball League, former Tall Fern Adrianne Gilbert had six points (3/7 FG), eight assists, five rebounds and three steals as Bankstown Bruins overwhelmed Manly Warringah 117-41, boosting their record to 8-1.

In the Queensland Australia Basketball League, NZ-born Va Aokuso had 17 points (8/13 FG, 1/3 FT), nine rebounds, four steals and two assists in Logan Thunderís 64-71 loss to Toowoomba Mountaineers.
