Former NZ Junior Tall Black Zane Meehl had 18 points (3/21 FG, 2/11 2/11 3pt, 10/11 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists and seven steals, but his Maroochydore Clippers fell short 100-110 against Brisbane Capitals in the Queensland Australia Basketball League.
Former Avondale College guard Tyrone Davey also had four points, three rebounds and three steals for the Clippers, who are coached by Kiwi legend Warwick Meehl.
Meanwhile, former Tall Black trialist Lance Baker had 16 points (5/13 FG, 4/11 3pt, 2/2 FT), two rebounds, an assist and a steal off the bench in Gold CoastÃs 143-107 win over Bundaberg Bulls.
Former BBNZ High Performance head coach Leonard King guided his Mackay Meteors to 3-2 with a 71-105 loss to unbeaten Rockhampton Rockets and a 143-76 win over winless Gladstone Power.
