Nick Mills credits words of wisdom from his gardening enthusiast father for his successful career in business and sports administration.
Mills today becomes an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to basketball after 30 years as the owner and chief executive of the Wellington Saints.
The Saints have won seven titles in that time with Mills also demonstrating a strong commitment to youth-focused community programmes.
