NZ U16s fall on Day Two
The NZ U16 teams hit the wall on the second day at the Australian Championships, suffering heavy losses in both the boys and girls play.
After their victory over Australian Capital Territory on the opening day, the boys fell 48-78 to Victoria Metro. They trailed by 11 points after the first quarter and never challenged, with Waikato Nikau McCullough (11) the only player to score in double figures.
Meanwhile, the Kiwi girls lost 43-62 to Victoria Country, with Waikato’s Krystal Leger-Walker the best performer – she had 15 points, including three three-pointers.
The NZ girls face Queensland North on Monday morning, while the boys have South Australia Metro in the afternoon.
