Fitting that Waikato Pistons import point guard Jason Crowe should dance away with the regular season’s final Player of the Week award.

Crowe, the Dominion Finance NBL’s assists leader and second in steals, has won five PoWs in 2008 and been in close contention several other weeks, all while recording three triple-doubles, the League’s first since pre-2000.

The 31-year-old American had 26 points (7/14 FG, 4/8 3pt, 8/9 FT), six rebounds, five assists, four steals and two dance moves in 37 minutes in the Pistons 94-79 win over the Youthtown Auckland Stars on Thursday night.

For the second straight year, Crowe finished the regular season atop the NBL Player Power Rankings, sitting in the number one spot after Waikato’s first game in round two and gradually increasing his lead week by week.

Crowe beat out Property Brokers Manawatu Jets import team-mates Keith Davis and Kantrail Horton, Devon Dynamos Taranaki pals Keith Salscheider, Link Abrams and Tony Rampton, and his own team-mate Brian Wethers for honours in round 15.
