New Zealand’s Christchurch-based franchise in the Australian WNBL invites all women players aged over 16 to open try-outs in Christchurch on July 8/9.

The trials may also act as a launching pad for players seeking US college opportunities.

They will feature two sessions each day …

10am-12.30pm Skills & drills (individual and team-based)

2-4.30pm Trial games

“All players are welcome to come and try out,” says Sirens coach Leigh Gooding. “There is no guarantee that any players will end up making the training squad or a college team, but this is simply an opportunity to come and put your best foot forward on an even playing field.”

The Sirens are an integral part of the NZ Tall Ferns programme, where Gooding assists head coach Mike McHugh. Seven Sirens players will leave with the national team for Europe on Sunday.

Interested players should RSVP to leigh@canterburybasketball.co.nz or Ph 03 982 3865.
