Everywhere you looked during semifinals weekend, there were heroes Ö but none bigger than Pace in the overtime nailbiter at Te Awamutu.
Backcourt running mate Mike Fitchett might have won the game, but Pace got the Giants there with his near ìtriple doubleî and clutch free throw shooting at the end of regulation.
While Fitchett (34 points, 8/10 3pt) bombed away from outside, Pace totally befuddled the Pistons defence with his driving, floating stuff to the basket.
He edges out Fitchett, Waikato counterpart Jason Crowe (28 points, eight rebounds, seven steals) and Bay Hawks super sub Arthur Trousdell (17 points/15 rebounds, 3/4 3pt) for POW honours.
