Tournaments co-ordinator Nick Crocker has resigned from Basketball New Zealand, effective mid-January.
Crocker served his work experience with BBNZ while studying sport business management at Massey University in 2007 and joined the staff fulltime in August 2008. He oversaw logistics for 38 premiership and national tournaments this year.
“We’re disappointed to lose Nick and acknowledge the tremendous contribution he has made to the tournaments programme over the past 16 months,” says BBNZ chief executive Tim Hamilton.
“We wish him well in his new adventure.”
Crocker, who completed the Coast to Coast one-day event this year, leaves BBNZ to travel around Chile.
Community basketball manager Glenda Rodger will also leave Basketball New Zealand in January, albeit temporarily.
Rodger suffered concussion while playing in 2008 and has not been able to carry out her role on a fulltime basis since.
“To aid her recovery, it is best Glenda take a complete break from her duties and rejoin us when she is back on top of her game,” says Hamilton.
BBNZ will announce a strategy around replacing them in due course.
