Guard Lisa Pardon claimed bragging rights over fellow Kiwi Julie Ofsoski as Launceston Tornadoes beat the visiting Frankston Lady Blues 78-68 in the South East Australia Basketball League.
PardonĂs shot was off – she scored eight points (2/8 FG, 1/4 3pt, 3/6 FT), but she contributed six assists, four rebounds and three steals as Launceston improved to 6-9 for the season.
Ofsoski, a double Olympian who retired from the Tall Ferns last year, had 10 points (4/13 FG, 2/4 FT), six rebounds, three blocks and a steal in the losing effort and Frankston (3-13) still occupy bottom wrung on the ladder.
Meanwhile, Kiwi Gemma Kerr had 12 points for Kilsyth Lady Cobras as they overcame Southern Districts Spartans 88-69.
Kerr shot 4/12 FG, 3/8 3pt, 1/4 FT, adding four rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal in 21 minutes as Kilsyth improved to 8-6 for the season, sitting in fourth spot on the league table.
