NZ Tall Black Kirk Penney had nine points to help Alba Berlin defeat Brose Baskets 68-65 and maintain their lead at the top of the German Bundesliga table.

Penney shot 4/6 FG, 1/2 3pt, adding three steals, an assist and a rebound in his 18 minutes off the bench.

Among his opponents was former Harbour team-mate Chris Ensminger (four points, three steals and a rebound).

Berlin have now won their last eight games and are 24-5 for the season.

Meanwhile, fellow Tall Black Phill Jones had 11 points as his Tisettanta Cantu fell 65-81 to Bologna in the Italian Lega A.

Jones shot 5/13 FG, 1/5 3pt, adding six rebounds, an assist and a steal in 30 minutes as Cantu slipped to 14-13 for the season.

The result broke a four-game winning streak, but Cantu still sit seventh on the league table and in playoff contention.
