Craig Bradshaw and Mark Dickel remain the last Kiwis playing in Europe after Brendon Polyblank’s Swiss season came to an end on Sunday.

Polyblank had a game-high 28 points but could not prevent his BBC Monthey falling 78-68 to SAV Vacallo in the deciding game of their best-of-five first round playoff series in the Swiss Ligue Nationale de Basket.

Monthey led 34-31 at halftime and still held a 60-58 lead with five minutes remaining but were out-scored 20-8 down the stretch to lose the last two games of the series to get bounced from the playoffs.

Bradshaw had six points (3/6 FG, 0/2 3pt), six rebounds and an assist in 32 minutes as his Efes Pilsen squad deated Darussafaka 102-100 to look up the second seed with one round remaining in the regular season before the Turkish Basketball League playoffs.

Dickel had two points (1/1 FG) and three assists in 5:30 of court time as his 14th-placed Mutlu Aku Selcuk University team out-scored Kepez Belediye 23-15 in the final period to secure a 92-87 win in round 29 of the regular season.

Tab Baldwin’s U Mobitelco Cluj Napoca team sit square at 1-1 in their three-game first round Romanian Basketball League series with Gaz Metan Medias, after losing 89-70 on Saturday. Cluj Napoca won game one 99-90 last Wednesday and game three will be played later this week.

Former Tall Fern Adrienne Gilbert had the most impressive weekend of the New Zealanders in Australian Basketball Association competitions.

Gilbert racked up 23 points (9/10 FG, 5/5 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks to guide the Bankstown Bruins to a 93-51 win over the Hills Hornets on Saturday in round six of the Waratah League.

She then backed it up with 14 points (4/15 FG, 1/2 3pt, 5/8 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes as the Bruins remained undefeated at 5-0 with a 67-59 win over the Newcastle Hunters on Sunday.

Zeke Meehl had four points (1/3 FG, 0/1 3pt, 2/5 FT), two steals and a rebound in 20 minutes as his Maroochydore Clippers lost 117-73 to the Caboolture Suns in the first round of the Queensland Basketball League (QBL).

Also at Maroochydore, Shannon Profitt recorded 10 points (2/9 FG, 0/1 3pt, 6/8 FT), 17 rebounds and four steals as the Lady Clippers lost 45-41 to the Suns.

Former Tall Fern Julie Ofsoski had a game-high 21 points (8/21 FG, 5/7 FT), seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in 34 minutes but her Frankston Lady Blues fell at home 83-64 to the Ballarat Lady Miners in round eight of the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL).

Kiwi Gemma Kerr had 16 points (5/10 FG, 3/6 3pt, 3/4 FT), seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in 25 minutes of her Kilsyth Lady Cobras 81-57 win over the Albury Wodonga Lady Bandits, improving to 6-4.

Another Former Tall Fern, Jess Spinner, scored a team-high 20 points to lead her Wanneroo Wolves to a 95 -46 win over the Geraldton Buccaneers in round four of the Western Australian State Basketball League (SBL), improving the Wolves to 2-2.
