Newly-signed West Sydney Razorbackís centre Tony Rampton will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks of the Australian NBL after suffering an abdominal injury while on duty for the Dominion Finance NZ Tall Blacks in their recent campaign against the Australian Boomers.
An MRI has revealed that Rampton is suffering from an abdominal tear which will require some rest for an extended period of time.
While obviously disappointed with the injury to his new big man, Razorbackís head coach Rob Beveridge was still able to turn the loss of Rampton into a positive for his team.
ìThe loss of Tony is disappointing. I suppose the one good thing is that we have been preparing the whole pre-season without Tony as he was on duty with the New Zealand national team. This just means that our young bigs in Julian Khazzouh, Matt Knight, Anthony Petrie, along with Graeme Dann, will need to step up for the time being,î Beveridge said.
