Rookie Refs
Newcomers Scott Harris and Cheryl Crabbe have been added to the 2007 NBL referee panel.
Harris, from Nelson, officiated at all the national junior championships last year, controlling the NZ Secondary Schools girls’ final between Northcote College and Rangi Ruru Girls School. He also traveled with the NZ Koru contingent to Albury and worked the Australian U16 Championships.
Crabbe was a referee for 16 years in Canada before moving to New Zealand in 2005. Hooking up with the Harbour association, she officiated at two national championships, the CBL and WCBL finals.
Crabbe was appointed to the women’s grand final. The rest of the panel is essentially that which performed during the 2006 NBL season. Melony Wealleans and Gavin Zimmerman poised to bring up 100 games with the whistle.
