Basketball New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest from players for the Emerging Tall Blacks (U21) team to contest the FIBA Oceania Tournament, June 20-28, in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
Although the tournament is an open event (no age restriction), BBNZ will be sending only athletes aged under 21 on December 31, 2009.
The programme is self-funded and athletes will have to cover costs estimated at $4,000. Candidates may also be required to attend a camp at the end of the BBNZ U21 Championships in Tauranga, from May 6-9, and one of a series of regional workouts yet to be confirmed.
Players should lodge their expressions of interest with BBNZ national teams general manager Grant Chapman on 027 6875373 or chapman@basketball.org.nz by Monday, April 27.
