In what may have been a first in Tall Blacks history, Nenad Vucinic had to give his young shooting guard a pass out from training camp on Saturday night to attend his school ball.
Yesterday it was the school’s chance to return the favour, Westlake Boys High signing off on a three-week adventure for 17-year-old Tai Webster with the New Zealand men’s basketball team.
Webster, the younger brother of recent Tall Black and Breakers guard Corey, now knows how fast things can happen in the unpredictable world of international basketball.
