Dominion Finance NBL Players of the Week – Jason Crowe (U Park It Waikato Pistons)
32 points (11/22 FG, 5/11 3pt, 5/7 FT), seven steals, five assists & four rebounds v Appliance Shed Harbour Heat
and
Link Abrams (TET Taranaki Mountain Airs)
25 points (11/13 FG, 3/8 FT), 13 rebounds, five blocks, two steals & an assist v Cartridge World Otago Nuggets
Fittingly, the top two players on the seasonís final power rankings produced their best performances in the final round to share this award.
Crowe, whose late arrival seems to have undermined his MVP prospects, finally got the Pistons up over semifinal top seeds Harbour with an effort that saw him break Dillon Boucherís dominance of the NBL steals category.
Meanwhile, Abrams boosted his claims for Outstanding Forward voting and sealed his rebound title with another all-round performance, made spectacular by his presence at the defensive end against a depleted Nuggets front court.
The pair edged Inspire Net Manawatu Jets forward Aaron Nowell (26 points/13 rebounds v Rams) and Airs import Gabe Stephenson (28 points/nine rebounds v Nugs) for weekly honours.
