Kiwi Zane Meehl continued his scoring blitz of the Queensland Australia Basketball League as Maroochydore Clippers overcame South West Metro Pirates 138-126.
Meehl led all scorers and finished two assists short of a ìtriple doubleî, contributing 36 points (13/24 FG, 6/12 3pt, 4/8 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and a block.
The Clips, coached by Tall Black legend Warwick Meehl, improved to 7-5 for the season.
Former NZ Tall Fern Shannon Proffit was again a key factor as the Maroochydore women beat their South West Metro counterparts 80-57.
Proffit had eight points (1/3 FG, 6/8 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
The Lady Clippers have now won eight straight games and are 10-2 for the season.
Meanwhile, NZ Tall Ferns Angela Marino led all scorers with 29 points (8/18 FG, 2/9 3pt, 11/14 FT) to guide Sturt Sabres 86-76 over North Adelaide Rockets in the Central Australia Basketball League.
Marino added five assists, three rebounds and a steal, as Sturt achieved their sixth consecutive victory and ran their record to 14-1.
