Christchurch Sirens

The Christchurch Sirens will hold open tryouts in Christchurch next week.

Coach Leigh Gooding will hold the trials for players over 16 at Cowles Stadium on Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, as the Christchurch club begins preparations for their second season in the Australian Defence Force Women’s National Basketball League, starting in October.

Two sessions will be held each day, with skills and drills, both individual and team-based, from 10am-12.30pm and trial games from 2-4.30pm.

“All players are welcome to come and trial for the Sirens or a possible college opportunity,” Gooding said.

“There is no guarantee that any players will end up making the training squad or a college team but it is simply an opportunity to come and put your best foot forward on an even playing field.”

RSVP would be preferred, but not essential, to leigh@Canterburybasketball.co.nz. Any other inquries can be made to Leigh Gooding on 027 687 5387 or to the Canterbury Basketball office on 03 982 3865.
