Basketball New Zealand is the National Sporting Organisation responsible for the development, promotion, governance and control of basketball throughout New Zealand, and we are looking for a dynamic new member to our team for the role of National Teams Administrator.
This role is based in the national office in Wellington and will report to the National Teams General Manager.
The position will be responsible for Basketball New Zealand’s High Performance junior and senior teams, which includes co-ordinating the logistics for cluster, regional, and preparation camps and international tours, compiling and managing budgets, and coaching development administration.
The candidate will need to effectively communicate with athletes and their care givers, coaches, support staff and external providers involved with Basketball New Zealand’s programmes.
Required Skills/Experience
- Initiative, drive, and passion
- Planning and organisation skills – can prioritise work activities, uses time efficiently
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal; presents ideas clearly and concisely
- Detail oriented
- Financial experience working with budget management
- Adapts to frequent changes and manages competing demands
- Experience working with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Tertiary qualification preferred, but not compulsory
- After-hours and weekend work may be required
- An understanding of elite development frameworks and pathways an advantage
- Previous experience in event or logistics management and/or elite development programmes an advantage
