The JTBs started the tournament with a heartbreaking 66-64 loss to Argentina, the world’s top-ranked men’s nation, on Thursday night, with guard Brook Ruscoe top-scoring with 22 points.
New Zealand face Croatia on Friday night, tip-off 7.30pm at the North Shore Events Centre (Sky Sport 3 & Radio Sport), and Kazakhstan on Saturday night, tip-off 7.30pm at the North Shore Events Centre (Sky Sport 3 & Radio Sport), needing at least one win to progress through to next week’s second round.
