Player of the Week Jamil Terrell (Photosport)

CPS Nelson Giants forward Jamil Terrell may sit second in the NBL Player Power Rankings behind Youthtown Auckland Stars forward Casey Frank but his efforts were enough for Player of the Week honours.

Terrell’s back-to-back double-doubles, single-game performance high against the Nuggets and two team wins on the road, earned the 27-year-old American the accolade in his first weekend in the Dominion Finance NBL.

He headed off Frank, the top unrestricted player with 21 points (9/17 FG, 1/3 3pt, 2/3 FT), 13 rebounds, six assists and one steal against the Appliance Shed Harbour Heat, and Giants team-mate Michael Harrison, who was one rebound against the Nuggets off two double-doubles in round one of the NBL.
