Under-21s Day Two

March 6, 2008

Julius Trego scored 28 points, while Brooke Ruscoe, Hayden Whelan and Jordan Mills each scored 17, as Porirua beat North Harbour 108-64 and confirmed their favouritism on day two of the Oreo Under-21 National Championships in Wellington on Thursday.

Porirua and North Harbour were the remaining undefeated teams on the men’s side heading into their afternoon showdown but showed it was their tournament to lose with an emphatic performance, giving them sole possession of the top spot after four rounds.

The tournament continues Friday at Southwest Stadium, with finals on Saturday.

Wellington improved to 3-0 in the women’s competition, defeating Canterbury 46-42 on Thursday on the back of 18 points from Jasmine Davis.
