In light of the recent tragedy in Christchurch, we all hope that friends, family and colleagues are all safe.

With regard to the U13 National Championship Tournament; at this stage BBNZ is the process of contacting the Christchurch City Counceil ouncil and Canterbury Basketball Association. As most of the city is closed, communication will be limited, which will result in a delayed response.

At this stage, we suggest your team contact your rental vehicle company and accommodation to check your bookings. If your accommodation has been affected please advise BBNZ tournament coordinator Maree Taylor (Ph 027 687 5383 or tournaments@basketball.org.nz). Your team may need to find other accommodation until a decision is made.

Worst case scenario, we suggest your team get in touch with your insurance company just in case the tournament is cancelled.

Until we get response from the council and association, I cannot confirm if the tournament will be cancelled, moved or remain in Christchurch.

Once information is received we will advise ASAP.
