Canterbury Basketball Association (CBA) has an opportunity for someone with proven management and leadership skills to join the organisation as Chief Executive Officer, to drive the next stage of growth within one of New Zealand’s most dynamic regional sports administrations.

In addition to managing development, club and representative programmes, CBA has a management contract for the Canterbury Rams in the National Basketball League and will shortly launch the Christchurch Sirens as the first New Zealand team in the Australian Women’s Basketball League.

Key objectives of the CEO role include …

Generating and managing resources to allow the delivery of all CBA programmes

Leading the development and delivery of the CBA’s strategic and operational planning process

Growing interest in and engagement with basketball within the community

Providing clear leadership and mentoring to staff and volunteers

The ideal candidate will have results-based business acumen, demonstrable financial management expertise, proven relationshio building competency and the drive to lead a growth organisation.

You will be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to handle conflicting priorities.
