Nelson Basketball Association is seeking expressions of interest in its role of executive officer.
This is a key role for someone who thrives on challenges and can be the face of basketball in the region, making things happen and providing inspirational leadership for a dedicated and skilled team of volunteers.
Nelson Basketball is highly regarded throughout the country, has the current National Basketball League champions - the Blue Chip Nelson Giants - and boasts current Tall Black coach Nenad Vucinic. It has strong community support and the association wishes to build on this in continuing to develop its programmes.
Key performance outcomes include implementation of our new strategic plan, and continued growth and development of basketball at all levels.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to lead the implementation of a number of strategic initiatives including developing the role of the volunteer base. This will require effective communication with and support for the sub-committees and management committee.
Financial viability of the association will be achieved through target profitability and quality reporting systems. Key performance outcomes include strengthening the organisation’s financial base and successfully funding commercial objectives through the retention and growth of sponsorship and other income streams.
