Harbour Basketball, New Zealand’s largest basketball association, is seeking applicants for the role of CEO.
The role of CEO is clearly the key position in the association. The CEO must work very closely with the Harbour Board to deliver the Board’s Objectives and the organisational leadership required. The special individual we are seeking will have the following skills, experience and/or personal attributes:
- Significant previous Snr Management experience
- Strategic planning
- High end administration skills and understanding
- Solid accounting/finance exposure
- High levels of commercial acumen
- Strong and Inspirational Leader
- Excellent sales/marketing skills with the ability to spearhead corporate sponsorship/fundraising activities
- Organisational spokesman/front man
- Great relationship/people management
- A passion for basketball and/or sport
- Exposure to operations, logistics and/or event management
Harbour Basketball has over 300 regional and national junior rep players and over 4000 registered players competing year round in a variety of competitions.
As a not for profit organisation, many of the people that make the association function are volunteers and/or just basketball lovers. As such, another key component of this role will be working with the many volunteers, coaches, players, administrators and plain old basketball lovers to ensure the day to day runs smoothly as well as the high profile events.
