Dominion Finance Holdings are continuing to back New Zealand basketball with sponsorship of the NZ Tall Blacks.

Fresh from their involvement with the successful 2007 Dominion Finance NBL, the investment institution, active in their market for more than half a century now, have stepped in behind the Tall Blacksí bid to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.

The Dominion Finance NZ Tall Blacks are currently in camp preparing for their upcoming series against Venezuela from July 20-24 as part of their build-up towards the FIBA Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament against Australia next month.

ìWeíve had a great experience with Basketball New Zealand and the National Basketball League over the past four months, so weíre extremely happy to develop that relationship further by supporting the national menís team,” says Dominion Finance Holdings chief executive Paul Cropp.

“We like the sport for its ability to thrill young and old with its exciting pace and display of true athleticism.

ìOver the past decade, the Tall Blacks have represented New Zealand proudly in a truly competitive, international sport. We know new coach Nenad Vucinic and his team will continue that tradition against the Australians this year.î

For their part, Basketball New Zealand greatly appreciated the support of Dominion Finance during a thrilling NBL competition and were already working with their new partners towards next yearís competition when this opportunity arose.

ìDominion Finance are newcomers to basketball, but have quickly become as passionate about the game as we are,î says BBNZ general manager Andrew Alleway.

ìWeíre glad to have them on board for our international campaign and hope it will prove just as rewarding for them as the league was.î
