Introduction

The following information introduces a code of ethics for coaches and basic safety concepts for coaching Basketball. They will help you:

• Identify key elements of your role and your responsibilities to your players
• Provide a safe environment for your players
• Identify and apply key strategies for your own protection (and those in your management team).

As you go through this, think about how these concepts relate back to your players and your Basketball coaching.
